In 2024, the elections for the Dutch members of the European Parliament will be held. By casting your vote, you contribute to the future of Europe. You vote too, don’t you?
When can you vote?
You can vote if you are 18 years or older and if you have Dutch nationality.
What does the European Parliament do?
The European Parliament decides on new laws and votes on trade agreements. It also oversees other institutions of the European Union. Additionally, the European Parliament ensures that that tax money is spent wisely. Lastly, the European Parliament thoroughly investigates certain issues. European Elections are held every 5 years.
You can vote for candidates from Dutch political parties. Most Dutch political parties are affiliated with a European political party.
